2 friday night ago...

i was on the deck, having a cocktail eagerly anticipating my moms arrival. as summer moves into fall (even though it's stil warm) our sunsets have begun their transformation from blue skies into night, to blue skies, splashing color against cloud coverage and marine layers. more to come.

kites

on monday i went rollerblading after work along the boardwalk. i usually go from venice to the santa monica pier and back. on this particular monday as i came back i saw a guy manming not one, but many kites at once. it seems he had sort of sewn them together or who knows!?!? maybe they make kites that they. anyway, he was flying this contraption very aggressively. kites flying this way and that, up in the air, then down. from one side of the beach to the next. it was pretty windy that day too, so the sound effects were equally cool. anyway, the pics are from my camera phone. which reminds me to bring my camera charger home.

summer in the city

fire in the hills

may 8th, 2007. dana just came back from picking up pho and let us know there is yet another fire in the hills. it is about 94 degrees today with a warm wind blowing. this pic is taken from one of the offices on my floor. the last one is a close up. it looks like it is in griffith park and such a shame...
